Plant Size ↓

Deeply lobed, wavy-edged leaves in rich green with burgundy stems that give the whole plant a wild, almost sculptural quality. The Mirosha is one of the more unusual Calatheas you'll come across, with a texture and shape that makes it look like no other plant in the room. It loves humidity, appreciates consistency, and rewards a little extra care with foliage that genuinely stops people in their tracks.

CARE GUIDE

+ POSITION / LIGHT: Bright indirect light is ideal. Keep out of direct sun which can scorch and fade the leaves. A spot near a window with filtered light works beautifully.

+ WATERING: Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Calatheas are sensitive to both underwatering and overwatering. Use filtered or rainwater where possible as they can be sensitive to fluoride in tap water.

+ TEMPERATURE: Happiest between 18–27°C. Keep away from cold drafts, air conditioning and temperatures below 15°C.

+ FERTILISER: Feed once a month through spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser at half strength. No feeding needed over winter.

+ GROWTH RATE: Moderate. Produces new leaves regularly through the warmer months, each one unfurling slowly from a central stem.

+ PET FRIENDLY: Yes, non-toxic to cats and dogs. 🐾

FAQ'S

1. The edges of the leaves are going brown and crispy. What's wrong? Low humidity is almost always the cause with Calatheas. They love moisture in the air. A humidifier nearby, a pebble tray with water, or grouping with other plants will all help.

2. The leaves are curling. Should I be worried? Curling usually means the plant is thirsty or the air is too dry. Check the soil and give it a thorough drink if needed, then look at increasing humidity around the plant.

3. Can I propagate it? Yes. Divide the plant at the base during repotting, ensuring each division has healthy roots. Pot up in fresh well draining mix and keep warm and humid while it settles in.
