Arrowhead Syngonium ć°ļø Care Guide
Ā POSITION / LIGHT: Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light conditions. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves, while low light may result in faded colours and leggy growth.
Ā WATERING: Water when the top 2ā3cm of soil feels dry. Syngonium likes to stay lightly moist but not soggy. Reduce watering in winter when growth slows down.
Ā TEMPERATURE: Prefers warm temperatures between 18ā26°C. Keep away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents. Loves a bit of humidity, so consider misting in dry environments.
Ā FERTILISER: Feed every 4ā6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser. No need to feed in winter.
Ā GROWTH RATE: Fast-growing under the right conditions. It can climb or trail several feet, making it perfect for hanging baskets or training on a support.
Ā PET FRIENDLY? No. Syngonium is toxic if ingested, so keep it out of reach of pets and small children.
FAQ'S ć°ļø
How often do Syngonium need to be watered?
Typically once a week during the growing season, and every 2ā3 weeks in winter. Always check the topsoil before wateringāif itās dry, itās time to water.
Is it better to water Syngonium from the bottom or top?
Either method works. Top watering is generally easier, but bottom watering can encourage deep root growth. Just make sure to empty any excess water from the saucer to avoid root rot.
Why do leaves on my Syngonium go brown?
Brown leaves can result from underwatering, low humidity, or direct sunlight. Check your watering routine and light exposure. Increasing humidity (via misting or a pebble tray) can also help prevent crispy edges.
