CARE GUIDE
+ POSITION / LIGHT: Tolerates low light through to bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun which can scorch and fade those deep, glossy leaves.
+ WATERING: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. The ZZ stores water in its rhizomes, making it one of the most drought tolerant houseplants around. When in doubt, wait a little longer.
+ TEMPERATURE: Comfortable between 15–30°C. Avoid frost and prolonged cold drafts.
+ FERTILISER: Feed once or twice through spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. No feeding needed over winter.
+ GROWTH RATE: Slow to moderate. New stems emerge from the base and unfurl steadily through the warmer months.

1. The leaves are turning yellow. What's going on? Almost always overwatering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings and check that the pot has good drainage. The rhizomes store water, so this plant genuinely needs less than you think.
2. Can I propagate it? Yes, though it takes patience. Leaf cuttings can be rooted in water or moist soil, or you can divide the rhizomes at repotting time. Division gives the fastest results.
3. My Jungle Warrior isn't as dark as when I bought it. Why? New growth can come through lighter before deepening to that characteristic dark green. If older leaves are fading, it may need a slightly brighter spot to maintain the intensity of colour.
