Plant Size ↓

The Lotus Hahnii is the more refined cousin of the classic Bird's Nest Snake Plant. Its leaves curve inward in a tight, symmetrical rosette that looks almost architectural - like it was arranged on purpose. Tough as nails, slow to need attention, and small enough to fit anywhere. One of those plants that earns its spot without ever asking for much.

CARE GUIDE

+ POSITION / LIGHT: Tolerates low light through to bright indirect light. Avoid prolonged direct sun, which can scorch the leaf edges.

+ WATERING: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. In cooler months, once every few weeks is enough. Overwatering is the only real way to lose this one.

+ TEMPERATURE: Comfortable between 15–30°C. Keep away from frost and cold drafts.

+ FERTILISER: Feed once or twice through spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. No feeding needed over winter.

+ GROWTH RATE: Slow. Stays compact and tidy, usually reaching no more than 15–20cm.

+ PET FRIENDLY: No, toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Keep out of reach.

FAQ'S

1. The base of my plant is going soft. What's happening? Overwatering. Let the soil dry out completely between drinks and make sure the pot has drainage. Caught early, the plant can recover.

2. Can I propagate it? Yes. Divide offsets from the base and pot them up separately, or try leaf cuttings in moist soil. Division tends to give the fastest results.

3. Why does my Lotus Hahnii look the same as when I bought it? That's normal. This is a naturally slow grower and won't put on a show of new leaves quickly. Give it time and the right light and it will get there.
