Broad, glossy leaves marbled in shades of pink, cream and olive green that shift and vary from leaf to leaf. The Ruby Rubber Plant is one of the most colourful indoor trees you can own, bringing a warmth and vibrancy that solid green plants simply can't match. It grows upward with real presence, looks beautiful in any well lit corner, and develops more colour intensity as it matures. A true statement plant for anyone who likes things a little bold.

CARE GUIDE

+ POSITION / LIGHT: Bright indirect light is essential for keeping the pink and cream variegation vivid. Too little light and the colours fade significantly, with new leaves coming through much greener.

+ WATERING: Allow the top half of the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow to drain fully before watering again. Reduce watering over the cooler months.

+ TEMPERATURE: Comfortable between 15–27°C. Keep away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents and sudden temperature changes.

+ FERTILISER: Feed once a month through spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. No feeding needed over winter.

+ GROWTH RATE: Moderate. Grows steadily upward over time, with each new leaf unfurling in its own unique combination of pink, cream and green.

+ PET FRIENDLY: No, toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Keep out of reach.

FAQ'S

1. The pink colouring on my Ruby is fading. What's happening? Not enough light. The Ruby needs bright indirect light to maintain its variegation. Move it closer to a window and new growth should come through with stronger pink and cream tones.

2. There is a sticky residue on the leaves. What is it? This is likely sap from the plant itself, or a sign of scale or mealybug. Check the undersides of leaves and stems closely. If pests are present, treat with neem oil or insecticidal soap, repeating weekly until clear.

3. Can I propagate it? Yes. Take a stem cutting just below a node and allow the cut end to dry for an hour or two before placing in water or moist soil. Keep warm and in bright indirect light while it roots.
