POSITION / LIGHT: Loves bright, indirect light. To keep that stunning pink variegation vibrant, give it as much filtered sunlight as possible. Avoid strong direct sun (it can scorch), and low light (it can fade the colour).
WATERING: Water when the top 3–5cm of soil feels dry. Ficus Ruby prefers a regular watering routine, but hates soggy soil. Good drainage is a must!
TEMPERATURE: Prefers temps between 18–26°C. Avoid cold draughts and big temperature swings—this diva likes consistency.
FERTILISER: Feed monthly during spring and summer. No need to feed in winter when growth slows.
GROWTH RATE: Moderate to fast, depending on light and care. It can grow tall and bushy indoors with regular attention (and the occasional prune).
PET FRIENDLY? No. This plant is toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of pets.

Indoors, it can grow up to 1.5–2 metres tall with time and care. Outdoors in ideal climates, it can get even bigger—but expect a slow and steady rise to pink-leaf glory.
Is Ficus Ruby indoor or outdoor? Can you grow it on a verandah?
It’s primarily an indoor plant, but you can grow it outside in warm, frost-free climates. A covered verandah or sheltered outdoor area with bright, indirect light is ideal - just bring it inside if temperatures drop.
How to make Ficus Ruby more pink?
Light is everything! The brighter the indirect light, the more vibrant the pink tones. Avoid low-light spots and rotate the plant regularly to keep colour balanced on all sides. Healthy soil, proper watering, and regular feeding also help boost colour intensity.
