Plant Size ↓

Deep, velvety green leaves with a subtle central variegation that catches the light in the most understated, elegant way. The Green Magic is the quieter side of the Dieffenbachia family, less flashy than its patterned cousins but no less beautiful. It grows boldly and fills a space with a lush, tropical richness that feels genuinely luxurious.

CARE GUIDE

+ POSITION / LIGHT: Bright to medium indirect light is ideal. Tolerates lower light better than most Dieffenbachias, though growth will slow in darker spots.

+ WATERING: Allow the top 2–3cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly and allow to drain fully. Reduce watering over the cooler months.

+ TEMPERATURE: Happiest between 18–27°C. Keep away from cold drafts, air conditioning and temperatures below 15°C.

+ FERTILISER: Feed once a month through spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. No feeding needed over winter.

+ GROWTH RATE: Moderate to fast in good conditions. Produces large, broad leaves regularly through the warmer months.

+ PET FRIENDLY: No, toxic to cats, dogs and humans if ingested. Wash hands after handling and keep out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ'S

1. The leaves are drooping even though the soil feels moist. What's wrong? This is often a sign of overwatering and root stress rather than underwatering. Check the roots for any signs of rot, improve drainage, and allow the soil to dry out more between waterings.

2. Can I propagate it? Yes. Take a stem cutting with at least one node and root it in water or moist soil. Wear gloves when handling as the sap can cause skin and eye irritation.

3. Why are the lower leaves yellowing and falling off? Some lower leaf loss as the plant grows taller is completely normal. If yellowing is happening rapidly or across the whole plant, check for overwatering or insufficient light.
