The Alocasia Zebrina is basically a supermodel in a pot. With its sleek arrow shaped leaves and iconic zebra striped stems, this tropical beauty is all about bold style and architectural drama. Native to Southeast Asia, it’s a favourite among plant lovers for its unique look and statement making presence. It’s a little bit diva, but we love it anyway.

Alocasia Zebrina 〰️ Care Guide

 POSITION / LIGHT: Alocasia Zebrina thrives in bright, indirect light. It loves a well-lit spot near a window with filtered light but will sulk in low light and scorch in harsh sun.

  WATERING: Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy. Let the top 3–5cm of soil dry out between waterings. It’s fussy about overwatering, so good drainage is key.

  TEMPERATURE: Prefers warm, humid conditions—between 18–28°C is ideal. Keep it away from cold drafts and heaters. It really doesn’t enjoy a chill.

  FERTILISER: Feed every 4–6 weeks during the warmer growing months with a balanced liquid fertiliser. Skip feeding in autumn and winter when it slows down.

GROWTH RATE: Moderate to fast grower under ideal conditions. It can reach around 60–90cm tall, with those stunning stems stretching upwards like botanical stilts.

  PET FRIENDLY? No. Alocasia Zebrina is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Best to keep it on a high shelf or in a no-paw zone.
