🪴 White Monkey Tail Cactus (Hildewintera Colademononis)

The White Monkey Tail Cactus is basically the rockstar of the cactus world - spiky, shaggy, and impossible to ignore. With long, trailing stems covered in soft, white, hair-like spines, it looks like a monkey’s tail swinging in the jungle (but make it desert-chic). Pop it in a hanging pot and let those fuzzy arms dangle for maximum drama. And yes—it even blooms with bright red flowers when happy!

White Monkey Tail Cactus 〰️ Care Guide

 POSITION / LIGHT: Loves full sun to bright, indirect light. The more light, the better—this cactus thrives on sunshine. A north or west-facing window is ideal.

  WATERING: Water sparingly—every 2–3 weeks in warmer months and barely at all in winter. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is its worst enemy!

  TEMPERATURE: Thrives in warm temps (20–30°C) and can tolerate cooler nights, but hates frost. Bring it indoors if the temps drop too low.

  FERTILISER: Feed monthly during spring and summer. No need to feed in winter when growth slows.

  GROWTH RATE: Moderate to fast in the right conditions. Can grow long, dramatic tails up to 2 metres if given the time and light!

  PET FRIENDLY? Not ideal. While the spines are soft compared to most cacti, they can still irritate curious pets or little fingers. Best kept out of reach.
