Plant Size ↓

All the toughness of a Snake Plant, just in a smaller, rounder package. The Hahnii forms a neat, low-growing rosette of dark green leaves banded with lighter markings, sitting compact and tidy wherever you place it. It thrives on neglect, tolerates low light, and asks for very little in return. Perfect for a desk, a bathroom shelf, or as a gift for someone who's convinced they can't keep plants alive.

CARE GUIDE

+ POSITION / LIGHT: Tolerates everything from low light to bright indirect light. Not a fan of harsh direct sun for extended periods.

+ WATERING: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. In winter, once every few weeks is plenty. This plant would rather be forgotten than overwatered.

+ TEMPERATURE: Comfortable between 15–30°C. Avoid frost and prolonged cold.

+ FERTILISER: Feed once or twice through spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. No feeding needed over winter.

+ GROWTH RATE: Slow. It stays compact by nature, rarely exceeding 15–20cm in height.

+ PET FRIENDLY: No, toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Keep out of reach.

FAQ'S

1. The leaves are going soft and mushy at the base. What's wrong? Overwatering, almost certainly. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings and ensure the pot drains well. This is the one thing that will undo a Snake Plant.

2. Can I propagate it? Yes. Leaf cuttings placed in water or moist soil will root over time, or you can divide offsets from the base of a healthy plant and pot them up separately.

3. Why does my Hahnii look like it's barely growing? Snake Plants are naturally slow growers, especially in cooler months or lower light. It's not struggling, it's just taking its time.
