Plant Size ↓

Few plants make a statement quite like the Monstera Deliciosa. Those big, glossy leaves with their distinctive splits and holes are instantly recognisable, and they only get more dramatic as the plant matures. It grows with real presence, filling a corner or framing a room in a way that smaller plants simply can't. A genuine classic that earns every bit of the attention it gets.

CARE GUIDE

+ POSITION / LIGHT: Bright indirect light is ideal. It will tolerate lower light but growth will slow and new leaves may not develop their characteristic splits.

+ WATERING: Allow the top half of the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, then let it drain fully before watering again.

+ TEMPERATURE: Happiest between 18–27°C. Keep away from cold drafts and air conditioning.

+ FERTILISER: Feed once a month through spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid fertiliser. Reduce or stop feeding over winter.

+ GROWTH RATE: Moderate to fast in the right conditions. Given space, light and warmth, this one will really move.

+ PET FRIENDLY: No, toxic to cats and dogs if ingested. Keep out of reach.

FAQ'S

1. My Monstera has no splits in the leaves. Why? Young plants rarely produce fenestrated leaves straight away. As the plant matures and gets more light, those splits will start to appear naturally.

2. Can I propagate it? Yes. Take a stem cutting with at least one node and one leaf, and place it in water or moist soil. Water propagation is easy to monitor and roots usually appear within a few weeks.

3. There are brown crispy edges on the leaves. What's causing it? Low humidity or inconsistent watering are the most common causes. Try misting occasionally or placing a humidifier nearby, and make sure you're watering thoroughly rather than little and often.
