The Dieffenbachia ‘Whitti’ is a beautifully patterned foliage plant known for its creamy white centres and soft green edges, giving it a gentle, marbled appearance. Its elegant, elongated leaves and compact growth habit make it the perfect statement piece for living rooms, offices, or shaded corners that need brightening. Easy to care for and wonderfully decorative, ‘Whitti’ brings a lush, tropical feel with very little effort.

Dieffenbachia Whitti 〰️ Care Guide

POSITION / LIGHT: Thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate medium light, but too little light may dull its variegation. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the delicate leaf patterns.

WATERING: Water when the top 3–5cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist, but never soggy. Reduce watering in winter and always check that your pot has drainage holes.

TEMPERATURE: Happy in warm indoor temps between 18–26°C. Avoid cold drafts and keep away from air conditioning or heating vents.

FERTILISER: Feed every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted liquid houseplant fertiliser. No need to fertilise in winter.

GROWTH RATE: Moderate grower. Can reach 40–80cm tall indoors with the right care, forming a full, upright clump.

PET FRIENDLY? No. Dieffenbachia is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of curious paws and little hands.

Why are the leaves on my Dieffenbachia Whitti turning yellow?

Yellow leaves are commonly caused by overwatering. Check that the soil isn’t staying wet for too long and ensure the pot has good drainage.

Can Dieffenbachia Whitti grow in low light?

It can survive in low light, but the variegation will fade. For the brightest, boldest patterns, keep it in bright, indirect light.

How do I make my Dieffenbachia Whitti grow bushier?

Provide consistent bright light, feed during the growing season, and occasionally trim leggy stems. New growth will emerge fuller and denser.
