Delicate, dreamy, and dusted in pastel - Variegated Chain of Hearts is a romantic twist on the classic trailing favourite. With its heart-shaped leaves marbled in silver, green, cream, and blushing pink tones, it’s the kind of plant that turns heads (and shelves) wherever it goes. Whether cascading from a hanging pot or trained along a trellis, this stunner adds instant charm with a whimsical, fairytale feel.

Chain of Hearts - Variegated 怰ļø Care Guide

Ā POSITION / LIGHT: Loves bright, indirect light—and lots of it! The more light it receives, the stronger its pink variegation. Avoid direct sun (especially in summer), which can scorch the leaves.

Ā  WATERING: Water only when the soil is completely dry. As a semi-succulent, it stores water in its tubers and doesn't like wet feet. Overwatering is the #1 enemy!

Ā  TEMPERATURE: Thrives in temps between 18–26°C. Protect from frost and cold drafts, and it’ll stay happy. Loves a bit of humidity but not essential.

Ā  FERTILISER: Fast-growing when it’s happy. With good light and the occasional trim, this beauty will trail gracefully over a metre long.

Ā  GROWTH RATE: Fast-growing when happy! Can trail over a metre long, but regular trims can help encourage a fuller look.

Ā  PET FRIENDLY? Yes! This sweetheart is non-toxic to pets and people—so it’s safe to show off in any space.

FAQ'S 怰ļø

What is the difference between String of Hearts and Variegated String of Hearts?

The variegated version has cream and pink marbling on its leaves, while the classic version is green and silver. Both have the same heart shape and growth habit, but the variegated one is a bit more rare and a lot more pastel-perfect!

How to get a bushy Chain of Hearts?

Prune long strands and replant the cuttings back into the same pot to encourage fuller growth. Bright light, regular trimming, and even watering help keep it lush and dense.

What are the balls on my Chain of Hearts?

Those little balls are tubers! They store water and nutrients and help the plant survive dry spells. They can also be used to propagate new plants - nature’s bonus feature.

Why is my Variegated String of Hearts not pink?

Not enough light! The pink tones develop best in bright, indirect sunlight. If your plant is looking more green and cream, try moving it to a brighter spot (but not direct sun).

What does overwatered String of Hearts look like?

Signs include yellowing or translucent leaves, mushy stems, and leaf drop. If the soil is damp and the plant looks sad, ease off the watering and let it dry out thoroughly.
