The Asplenium Antiquum, commonly known as the Bird’s Nest Fern ‘Antiquum’, is a lush, tropical beauty with glossy, upright, sword-like fronds that radiate in a circular, nest-like shape. Unlike its cousin with ruffled edges, this variety has smoother, arching fronds that give it a more structured and architectural look. It’s the perfect pick for adding fresh, vibrant greenery to your indoor jungle - especially in low-light corners that need a little life.

Bird’s Nest Fern - Antiquum 〰️ Care Guide

 POSITION / LIGHT: Loves medium to bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun, which can burn its fronds. It’s also tolerant of lower light, making it ideal for bathrooms or shaded rooms.

  WATERING: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Water when the top 2–3cm of soil feels dry. Avoid pouring water directly into the centre “nest” of the plant to prevent rot - water the soil around the base instead.

  TEMPERATURE: Thrives in warm indoor temperatures between 18–26°C. Protect from cold drafts and avoid placing it near air conditioning vents or heaters.

  FERTILISER: Feed monthly during the warmer months with a diluted, balanced liquid fertiliser. Skip feeding in winter when the plant naturally slows down.

  GROWTH RATE: Moderate grower. With proper care, it can reach up to 60cm high and wide, forming a full, bushy rosette of lush green foliage.
